Melody asked on the Frugal Femina Facebook page about my green smoothie recipe, so I told her I’d post it real quick-like. There are lots of ways to make green smoothies. Really, you can just throw in whatever strikes your fancy. I just know I have a lot more energy when I drink these for breakfast. And Bradley loves to help make them!
The directions are simple. Mix all of these ingredients in the blender, and enjoy. I know you can handle that! c-:
- Ice Cubes – I use 5…or more depending on how fast Bradley puts them in there!
- Fruit – I have used peaches, bananas, blueberries, etc. I use one piece of fruit for each smoothie.
- Veggie – I have used spinach, cucumbers, etc. I throw a large handful in there for each smoothie. The veggie is the main part of my smoothie. But don’t worry! It doesn’t taste like spinach. Or else I wouldn’t drink it. c-:
- Protein – I have used peanut butter and a protein powder my friend gave me called ViSalus. I use a Tablespoon or two.
- Liquid – I use soy milk, but some people use orange juice, etc. I use just enough to help everything mix together. I like thick smoothies.
- Topping – I use cinnamon because it helps to control blood sugar. You could use granola, almonds, etc.
Myra at My Blessed Life also has a vlog with her recipe. Take a look!
