{Redo It!}: Child Silhouette + Link to Your Projects/Tips

07.29.10

Welcome to {Redo It!}, a weekly DIY series here at Frugal Femina. You can either link up to your own DIY project/tip, or something that has inspired you to get crafty.

When I saw one of the photos in this post at Nesting Place, I knew I wanted to include a silhouette of Bradley in his new room. At first, I had Bradley sit in a chair near the wall and tried to trace his shadow on some white paper. However, the little fella could not sit still long enough for me to get a good image. Xon found a great post from Design Dazzle that helped tremendously! She has some really pretty details in her photos with the eyelashes and tufts of hair.

We ended up snapping a picture of Bradley sitting in the chair and printed it on a laser printer on white paper. I taped it on a piece of black card stock and cut out the image. I bought a black frame to match the print I showed you last week, and I spray painted the mat an almond color. Then, I used spray adhesive to attach the image to a piece of white paper. I added Bradley’s name and date to the bottom, and voila! A quick and easy craft that I absolutely love!
