{Dish It!}: Sweet Tea + Link to Your Recipes/Tips

Welcome to {Dish It!}, a weekly series at Frugal Femina where you can link to your recipes and kitchen tips.

This week, I tried a new sweet tea recipe. It’s very simple and gets really high marks on AllRecipes.com. Of course, I tweaked it by adding about a gallon of lemon juice. {Maybe I should be known as coconut lady and lemon juice lady.} c-: I really hadn’t heard of putting baking soda in iced tea before, but apparently it softens the bitter taste of the tea.

I’ll let you be the judge.

Ingredients:
1 pinch baking soda
2 cups boiling water
6 tea bags
3/4 cup white sugar
6 cups cool water
Lemon juice, to taste
Fresh lemons to garnish
Ice

Directions:
Sprinkle a pinch of baking soda into a glass pitcher.

Pour in boiling water, and add tea bags.

Cover, and allow to steep for 15 minutes.

Remove tea bags, and discard. Stir in sugar until dissolved.

Pour in cool water, then refrigerate until cold.

Easy peasy!
