This week A Season of Cooking is all about spinach! Now, I haven’t cooked a whole lot with spinach, but I get a smoothie on Sunday mornings as part of my Mamavation Mom nutritional plan. So I decided to make a green smoothie. I checked out several recipes. Some people put honey, some put juice, some put pears…I tried to make mine as Mamavation-friendly as possible, so here’s what I ended up with:
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup fresh spinach leaves
- 1 cup skim milk
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 1 teaspoon flax
- 2 Tablespoons peanut butter {Needed to get the protein, and I love pb!}
DIRECTIONS
Blend everything together in a blender, top with a few fresh blueberries, and enjoy!
I thought it was really good, and I’ll definitely be making it again next Sunday morn!
Be sure to head over to The Sassy Saver and link up your favorite spinach recipe!

Here’s my favorite salad:
Start with a bag of spinach leaves. Add in halved strawberries and roughly chopped pecans. Top with low fat poppy seed dressing. It’s DELICIOUS

That’s a great recipe, Sarah! I think even Mamavation would approve.
