Hi, everybody! This is my 2nd week reporting in for Mamavation, and you can pretty much read last week’s update because it’s basically the same this week.
I lost another 1.4 pounds, as you know since I let the cat out of the bag on Twitter this weekend. That seems to be my number, huh? That’s ok, because I will take it! I weighed myself at least 3 times to be sure I was seeing the exact same loss from last week. Hope the trend continues! I’m certainly doing what I can to help it along. Step by step. The healthy way.
Thursday is the Twitter party announcing the final 2 Mamavation Moms. Did I mention I’d like to be one of them?
I found out about Mamavation in December, and I submitted my application the very second we were allowed to turn them in. Literally. I have been eating, breathing, and sleeping Mamavation ever since! {Thank goodness for a supportive family!} As soon as I joined in, people surrounded me with support. I am so thankful for finding such a wonderful group of ladies! And it’s FREE, too. How frugal of that Bookie Boo.
Not only did the Mamavation team support me instantaneously, but my friends online and in real life did, too. I have been surprised at how many people have told me I am encouraging them in their own healthy goals. That makes me take my application that much more seriously. I want to be a good role model, and show those people who even just have 20 or 30 pounds to lose that it can be done. I have no choice but to succeed now, because I can’t let all those people down! I want you to be proud of me, and I want to be proud of myself!
It is time to put excuses aside. It is time to put past disappointments, embarrassment, failures, fears, low self-confidence, and hurt just there. In the past. I’m not avoiding family reunions, friendly get-togethers, or shopping in certain stores. I’m not worrying about future diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart attacks. I’m taking advantage of this incredible opportunity to change my life for the better.
So my first step is making it to the top 5 in the Mamavation Moms campaign. I asked Bookie Boo if she would just choose all 5 and avoid all this “top 2″ nonsense.
But that’s not how the game works, so I need you to vote for me each day through Thursday. Just a few days left, and it only takes a little click.
- Go to Mamavation, and click on @FrugalFemina in the right-hand sidebar.
- Repeat the next day!
Thank you SO MUCH to my Fit Friend Andrea at Mommy Snacks for encouraging me during the past couple of weeks. Since I live in the “Kentucky hills” as Andrea says, it is humbling and heart-filling to be able to talk to you all on a daily basis and get your feedback and advice. Thank you for that–and for believing in me! You can be sure I will pay it forward.
So all that said, you’re IN, right? This is your year! Let’s get to it! And be sure to listen to my theme song, because you can’t help but get in the groove after listening to this:
Thank you to: Earth Footwear, EA SPORTS Active, Smooth Fitness, Gaiam, Tracy Mallett, Pete Cohen, Bookie Boo, and MomTV for helping us along the way!

XXOO I love that video! I love how they made the entire show about the audience enjoying themselves.
Doood, if I were to ever handle 5 moms, I’d need an assistant…lol.

I don’t know how they got all those people to do it, but it was just FUN, huh?

I’m typing as I get my groove on!
Leave it all behind, mama, and don’t look back – cause this year’s gonna be a good year!! I can’t wait to leave it all as well. Leaving the “woman’s” section/store would be fantastic. Can’t wait. Keep up the great work – can you imagine that if you lost 1.4 every week for half a year, you would be over 36 pounds lighter! Awesome!
