Mary Kay and My New Face

11.12.09

UPDATE - Read about Hilary’s 2010 open house here.

Bradley and I walked to the mailbox. In it was a package notice. My bread was still in the oven, so we couldn’t go right then. But as soon as I pulled it out, we raced to the car and headed for the post office. It was 4:18, and the P.O. closes at 4:30. Even though we’re not far away, it takes a while to get down our driveway, so I wasn’t sure if we would make it. But how exciting to have a package waiting!

We got there with just a couple of minutes to spare. They were just getting ready to close things down, but they handed me the package, and I found out it was my order from Hilary with Mary Kay!
This whole Mary Kay Adventure all started when Jill and Jenny posted about taking care of your skin. I am really bad at taking my makeup off every night. And by that, I mean I don’t do it EVER. I even bought those little cleansing towelettes and still can’t manage to do it. But those girls made me realize I am in my 20′s er, fsfl30something’skdls, and I need to get. with. the. program.

Enter Hilary.

Right at this very time, Hilary gave me a super sweet deal on Mary Kay products during her Open House. In fact, I’m pretty sure she paid me to take the products. :-) So I thought, “Why not jump back on the Mary Kay bandwagon?” I grabbed up all the basics on her Web site. I love shopping online. It means I don’t have to get Bradley out of his car seat again. She even ships and wraps your gifts for free. Then I waited and hoped my package would come really soon!

Enter the package notice.

And ladies, let me tell you, you know you’re in for something good when you open up the box and there’s all kinds of sparkly paper. Oh yeah, baby.

I have another goody on the way, but this is what I got in the first package:

It’s Christmas!

Don’t those beads look luxurious?

She even gave me a 50% discount off an item the next time I order, AND she threw in a makeup bag that I soooo desperately need. I really don’t want to tell you why I need a new makeup bag…It involves my toddler and the bathroom, and that’s all I have to say about that.

Hilary told me I couldn’t offer up my new bag as a giveaway since I am the Frugal Femina and all. But I’m not that nice, y’all. That box of goodies is all mine.

Now it’s time to start my routine of actually washing my face every day and taking off my makeup at night. Icandoit!

So yeah…a little pampering for this mama who has about 6 months left of nursing school and a toddler who suddenly decided I can’t be away for 5 minutes??!! {Thank you, Papaw, for bridging the gap!} Yep, I love it.

Do I ever.

This post is linked to Things I Love Thursday at The Diaper Diaries. And no, I didn’t receive anything for writing this post. I just really wanted to share about my girly pampering. It’s so rare and all. :-)
