We had a big shopping day yesterday! We went to Walmart, Kroger, Dollar General, and Hubs went to Toys R Us (more about that deal later). The Kroger deals weren’t quite as exciting as during the Mega Event, but my pantry is just about busting at the seams, so that’s ok! My grand total was $57.66 before rebates. I still haven’t touched any of my November budget yet, so I’m ahead of the game so far! You can see my past Bargains in the Bag here.
Here’s what I got:
KROGER
- (2) Horizon Gallon Organic Milks – Marked down from $5.99 to $1.99 each! (I love finding organic milk that’s marked down and making yogurt. One time I found it for $0.25! The key is to go to a store where people don’t normally buy organic products, so they have to mark them down.)
- (2) Rice Dream Milks – This was the refrigerated kind. Marked down to $1.59 each. Used $1/1 coupons here to get them for just $0.59 each!
- (1) Kroger Chocolate Chips – Priced at $1.40. Making some Holiday Zucchini Bread for some special people this morning. Sshhh! They don’t know yet.
- (2) Zucchinis – $0.84 each
- Fresh Tilapia – Priced at $3.99/pound. Mine came to $4.07. This is for the Yummy Crispy Baked Fish on my menu plan. Though I haven’t made it before, so I’ll have to report back on whether or not it is yummy and crispy.
- (1) Activia Yogurt – Priced at $2.39. Used $1/1 from the 11/1/09 SS to get it for $1.39. You can print a $1/1 coupon here. I’m also submitting this rebate to get a package of YoPlus yogurt for free!
- (1) package of Oscar Mayer Beef Franks – Priced at $3.99. Used FREE coupon Kroger mailed me. Make sure you have a current address on file with your KrogerPlus card. They often mail coupons–sometimes for a free product!
- (1) Feta Cheese – $1.99
- (2) Tomatoes – $0.36 each
- (4) Kroger Frozen Vegetables – $0.88 each
- (2) Packages of Tyson Pre-Cooked Bacon – $1.99 each
- (1) Package of Kroger Cheese – Priced at $1.25 each. Used $0.45 coupon Kroger mailed me.
- (1) Package of Diamond Walnuts – Priced at $3.27. Used $0.50/1 coupon Kroger mailed me, which doubled. This is a good example of how using coupons can help you get name-brand products for less than the generic version!
- (2) Bananas – Priced at $0.39/pound. Mine came to $1.33. Bananas are often priced at $0.59 or $0.69/pound. I’m probably going to slice up one bunch and freeze them. Aldi is a great place to get fruit, too.
- (1) Bob Evans Sausage – Priced at $2.50. Used $0.75 coupon Kroger mailed me.
- (1) Bag of Frozen Chicken Breasts – Priced at $6.99. Used $2 coupon Kroger mailed me.
- (1) Sour Cream – $1.36
- (1) Bag of Fresh Spinach – $2.29
- (1) Flour Tortillas – $1.05
Total: $40.98 after coupons, plus getting a free package of YoPlus yogurt.
WALMART
- (5) Boxes of Keebler Crackers – Priced at $2 each. Submitting this rebate to get $10 back. You have to buy the specially-marked boxes. If your store has the specially-marked boxes of Flipsides, you can use this coupon to get a better deal!
- (1) Dozen Eggs – $0.88
- (1) Hormel Compleats Meal – Priced at $1.98. Used $2/1 coupon from 10/2009 All You Magazine

- (2) Cans of Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom/Chicken Soup – Priced at $0.58 each. Used $1/2 coupon here to get these for $0.08 each!
