I LOVE THIS RECIPE! You might think using Mtn Dew in a dessert recipe is a little weird, but let me just assure you right off the bat that this dessert is heavenly–and super easy, too. I got the recipe from my friend Amy K. at church, and I am thrilled she shared it with me!
The Ingredients:
1 large Granny Smith apple
1 package of crescent rolls (8-pack)
1 1/2 cups of sugar
1 1/2 sticks of butter
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 can of Mtn Dew
The Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Core, peel, and slice your apple into 8 wedges (which is super easy with this nifty gadget I got at the apple orchard).
Roll each apple piece in a piece of the crescent dough. (There are 8 crescent rolls to a package, so that is perfect-o.)
Yep, there are apples in all of those!
Place apples in a 13 x 9 pan.
Mix cinnamon and sugar together.
Melt butter in small saucepan.
Add cinnamon-sugar mixture. Bring mixture to a boil, and boil for 1 minute.
Pour the syrup over the apples, and then pour Mtn Dew over all of it. Do not stir.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until apples are tender. About 20-25 minutes in, you will notice a wonderful aroma wafting through your house!
Of course, you can also top with ice cream, and maybe a little chocolate sauce. Can’t go wrong with chocolate, in my opinion. Enjoy!
