Welcome to Frugal Femina! I want to thank you for stopping by and sharing part of your day with me. I’m Katie, and I’ve been married to Xon for 8 years. I stay home with our little munchkin, Bradley, and I’m a part-time nursing student. I had a college degree, but I found a great program that lets me go to school for free. I couldn’t pass up that opportunity, so I get a lot of help from my family with watching Bradley while I’m in class each week. Just 1 1/2 semesters to go! {Insert applause here!} Xon is a pastor and a teacher, and we live in a little cabin on a farm in Kentucky.
I have been blogging in one form or another since 2005. Cooking is a huge stress reliever for me, so you’ll see I get especially giddy when I’m talking about a recipe or my menu plan. If you mention the words chocolate and peanut butter, well then I’m all ears. You’ll probably hear me talk a lot about my sister, Dawn. She’s my unofficial {as in unpaid} Public Relations Manager, and we talk on the phone every day. I love finding a bargain and getting free groceries. Feel free to wave if you see me in Kroger with a big coupon binder in my cart and a toddler eating Cheerios. {He’ll be driving in the big red kiddie car, and I will be trying my best to steer appropriately and not run into you!}
My big aha moment when I first started couponing was when I ran out of deodorant, and I realized I would have gone to Walmart and paid $3 or $4 on deo that day without giving it a second thought. But I didn’t have to because I had gotten three sticks for free at Walgreens the week before. Yes, this does work!!!!
I’m so glad to have you here and hope we can share some fun & thrifty talk for a well-managed home–including recipes, reviews, giveaways, kid activities, bargain shopping, and more. Thanks for visiting!
